Volunteer Opportunities
It's clear the benefits of volunteering are huge - improved physical and mental health, new friendships, reduces stress and creates a sense of purpose and deeper self-confidence.

We know you have a busy life, but your help is so important to our Pantry, and it doesn't have to be a big commitment! We have opportunities for 1 hour or up to 4 hours. You choose!

We are a non-profit, working with very limited funds and subsist entirely on volunteers for support in day-to-day operations.

Hannaford Donation Pickup
Time involvement: 1 hour
Must be able to lift heavy boxes of frozen meats, up to 40 pounds.​ Must have a vehicle. Must be 16 years of age or older. If under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
​
Volunteers meet at Hannaford Lunenburg to gather donated goods to include produce, deli, baked goods, bread and frozen meats. Donated items to be brought back to pantry where you will weigh, sort, pack and put away.

Hannaford Shopper
Time Involvement: 1 hour
Must be able to lift heavy bags, have own vehicle and be 17 years of age or older.
Shoppers will be given a list of products needed and quantities to be purchased. You will also be given a Pantry debit card for payment. Items to be brought back to pantry and put away.

Client Associate
Time involvement: Up to 2.5 hours
Volunteers must be at least 16 years old. They will assist clients in feeling welcome and supported while they shop for food, guiding them on the allowed quantities and pointing out new products. Help stock shelves and process food donations.

Walk-In Pantry Associate
Time Involvement: 1.75 hours
Stock shelves for next open Pantry date. At end of walk-in pack up food, take trash out, wipe surfaces and sweep if necessary. Other general duties as needed.

Vehicle Loader
Time Involvement: 1.5 hours - 2.5
Assist clients with brining grocery bags to their cars. Must be able to lift heavy bags. Must be 16 years of age or older.​
Expect to be outside in inclement weather.

Pre-Pack Delivery Volunteer
Time involvement: 30 minutes
Prepacked Delivery
Pick up prepacked groceries and deliver to either LAAC, Senior Housing and/or shut-in delivery customer. Must have car for delivery.​

This person be responsible for posting all volunteer needs, food drives, special events and update website. Must have knowledge and creativity in posting to social media.
